Mapusa Mela at Bodgeshwar Zatra 2020
Every year on Paush Shukla Paksha Chaturdasi or the fourteenth day during the waxing phase of the moon as per Hindu lunar calendar followed in Goa, a festival called Bodgeshwar Jatra takes place in Mapusa. Lord Bodgeshwar is considered as the guardian of Mapusa.
The popular belief is that the deity is a wish fulfilling deity and prayers never go unanswered.
A huge fair is held on the grounds outside the temple, and is attended by thousands every year. It’s all there, food, games, Ferris Wheel, Well of Death, a goat that can read minds, you name it! The fair goes on for about 10 days. JumpCut Goa made a trip to the Mapusa Mela 2020 and here’s how it went.
